Ingredients
- 2 kg of flour
- 200gr. yeast
- 1 cup of water
- 3 cups of sugar
- 2 tbs. olive oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. gum (mastic)
- 1 1/2 tsp. mahlepi
- A little salt
- 1 1/2 cup hot milk
- 10 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup of butter
- Almonds fillets
Preparation Method
Pour the water with the yeast in a large bowl and mix with a little flour. Leave it for 2 hours. In a different bowl, once the yeast is prepared with water, add the lemon, mastic, oil, sugar and milk and we mix. Gradually, pour the eggs, the remaining flour, and the lemon beforehand, and continue shaking. Prepare the butter in bain marry and pour it into the dough. Knead well and let it rise for 2 hours. Divide the sweet bread into 4 parts and knit it.
Bake at 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes and the sweet bread is ready for serving!
