Dough Ingredients:

  • 350 gr butter
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • 5 cups of flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of tsikoudia( raki)
  • ½ teaspoon soda

Ingredients for filling:

  • ½ kg walnuts and almonds chopped
  • 4-5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Rosewater
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation Method:

Dissolve the sugar in the milk and put the butter in a saucepan. Once the butter has melted, add the sugar. Stirring constantly, pour the flour into the pan until it becomes a firm dough.

Remove the pan from the heat, and when it has cooled, pour the eggs, first striking them, and the baking soda dissolved in the raki. Continue kneading until our dough has softened.

For the filling: In a bowl mix the nuts, almonds, sugar, and cinnamon. Cut a piece of dough and spread it on the palm to open. With a teaspoon put a little of the stuffing and close it.

Butter the pan, and spread the mumoulia. Bake over medium heat for half an hour. Once cooked, sprinkle with flour and powdered sugar.
