• 1 and ½ cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 and ½ cups of yogurt 
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons  baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice

For the syrup:

  • 250 ml of water
  • 100 g of sugar
  • juice from a lemon

Preparation Method:

Mix the flour, baking powder, and lemon juice. Beat the butter with sugar for a long time and add the egg yolks. Beat the egg whites well and pour the flour and yogurt alternately (a little bit of egg white, a little flour, a little yogurt) in the mixture with butter, sugar, and yolks. Stir well and pour them into a buttered baking dish. Bake in the oven at moderate temperature, about 1 hour.

Prepare the syrup, placing all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmering for 10 minutes. Let cool and pour it over the pie when it is warm.
